Warm-up Seoul, South Korea
Created for the 5th Open Studio & Exhibition at Seoul art space, Geumcheon, Warm-up was designed as the inaugural event created in collaboration with aerobics instructor Choi Hyen-Gun, artists, Seoul art space administrators, exhibiting artists and visitors including one hundred high school students bussed in from local high schools. The event consisted of a series of warm up exercises which participants actively engaged in. The event also coincided with the then recent Sewol ferry disaster where over 294 people, mostly high school students (the same age as those bussed in to collaborate on this event) lost their lives. At the time, most cultural events in Seoul as well as any public signs of exuberance or fun were cancelled because of the ferry disaster.
